Reforestation

Gases such as methane and carbon dioxide play a significant role in climate change. By planting new trees, we can control the presence of CO2 and other harmful gases in the air.

Our project in Paraguay

Together with local, experienced and successful partners, agricultural scientists, advisors and political committees, JUWELIS offers a farm concept in Paraguay that began successfully more than ten years ago.

The advantage lies in the security of land ownership secured by land register, the price of which has been rising for years, but is still very cheap in relation to neighboring countries. By selling the forest and agricultural products, sustainable income is achieved in addition to the increase in value. All services required for this are carried out by the company’s own employees on site, under the management and control of JUWELIS.

The land in Paraguay will be cultivated with superior wood which is used as renewable raw materials, such as high-quality and fast-growing eucalyptus trees. These can also be existing natural forest stands that are enriched with local, high-quality tree species and sold regionally on site after the wood harvest. Since Paraguay has cut down around two thirds of its natural forest in the last 50 years, wood is, in addition to the ecological consequences, rare and expensive. Not least because of the great demand, wood prices in Paraguay rose steadily.

In addition, the JUWELIS farm will also be supported by cattle fattening as well as honey, fish, fruit and vegetable production.
Paraguay offers excellent conditions with favorable taxes and a large supply of labor. Paraguay can point to lower inflation rates and was recently positioned by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in the “Inclusive Development Index” among the top 20 of the most up-and-coming of the 74 emerging countries.

Why Reforestation is Important for Us?

Gases such as methane and carbon dioxide play a significant role in climate change. By planting new trees, we can control the presence of CO2 and other harmful gases in the air.

Restoring forests offers multiple benefits for the entire ecosystem at social, biological, and chemical levels. For instance, reforestation acts as a highly effective strategy to mitigate and control global warming. Additionally, it helps to protect animal species that are becoming extinct due to deforestation.

Deforestation causes erosion which destroys habitats and soil. Reforestation makes it possible to redevelop habitats and prevent degradation, which is a significant threat to the species’ health. Plus, it helps in restoring the damage that occurs due to erosion. Moreover, reforestation restores the deforestation-affected watersheds that are a critical resource for the development of humans.

Humans can address the issues of hunger, water shortage, and usability with reforestation. Furthermore, it creates job opportunities for the people who are unskilled to get work within other industries. So it’s not only beneficial for the environment but also our economy.
